Building a Brand People Will Trust

Earlier in the week we touched on the idea that your brand is your story. Your brand is You. Naturally, our next step is to discover how your brand can build a relationship with the those you wish to reach.
Like any healthy relationship, the core foundation is trust. A person’s connection with your brand is no different. If you have the trust of those you want to reach, then you can build a relationship that is fruitful for you and your audience.
Lets take a look three keys to building a brand people can trust:
1. Trust is Made Through Consistency
Your brand is not decided by what’s happening in the present. It is a collection of every interaction you have had with your audience. Make sure you consistently communicate one vision; your vision. Continually communicating a singular vision will begin to build a trust and familiarity with your audience. Also, make sure you deliver on your promises, because your brand’s word is your word.
2. Trust is Made Through Engagement
The days of broadcasting information to the masses and expecting results are gone. Search engines are heavily weighing engagement for a reason; because it works. Do not just spew content at your audience in a one-sided conversation. Ask questions, give answers, and get involved. This is one of the easiest yet most overlooked keys to creating brand people immediately recognize and easily relate to.
3. Trust is Made Through Authenticity
Today’s audience craves authentic and genuine content. Therefore, share an honest story others can resonate with. Don’t try to create a message or persona that’s not you. Be true to your brand; share your value, and what inspires you. Ultimately your audience is looking for an honest story to inspire. Give it to them. Share your story.
