There’s Value in Consistency

Anyone who has ever gone to college knows the value of a cup of coffee. Not just a good cup of coffee, but any cup of coffee. Late night cram sessions and caffeine seem to just pair so perfectly together. There’s something special about coffee and coffee shops; some would say beautiful.

Let’s take Starbucks as an example. They’re not the greatest coffee shop in the world. Their beans aren’t the best, and their drinks aren’t the most flavorful. But, they’re the most popular coffee shop on the planet. There’s a good reason for that: consistency.

Consistency counts.

Starbucks may not be the best coffee in town, but what they do have is unparalleled: the same exact coffee from location to location. They make a skinny vanilla latte in San Diego the same exact way in San Jose. You like orange mocha frappuccinos? Well, they’re the same in San Francisco, California as they are in Frisco, Texas. Starbucks may not be the best place to grab a cup of good coffee, but they’re absolutely killing the consistency piece. That’s why they’re still growing strong for over four decades.

Consistency counts in churches.

When you have a strong principle brand, you need to carry that brand across all ministries and mediums. That means the CE and student ministry departments need to be unique in their context, but consistent according to the overall brand. It means your signage at street level carries the same brand across the internals of the campus. Your brand means something, and everything you produce should say whatever it is.

Here’s the rub: How do you do it?

Well, there’s doing it, and then there is doing it right. You can go to various design shops and they can give you piece A or B, and perhaps both, but few can give you everything you need and then train you how to use it.

You see, Catalyst Creative is all about the church. We want nothing more than to support the local church as it shares the greatest story ever told. That’s why our mission is to help you share your story, better. The church is where it’s at.

That’s why our team is so varied across expertise. We know what the church needs and how their audience needs to hear it. That’s why we produce and train. It’s got to be centered around helping the church succeed.
